It was a great evening at the Lodge Saturday night, 106 people filled the room as Jimmy had everybody attention all night long, with jokes after jokes and singing in between.
This was the third performance Jimmy has done this weekend, First at Ashlar Lodge #36 Friday night, next in St. John for the North Eastern Shiners convention Saturday afternoon, and back up to Harvey for the night show.
People started coming in the door around 6:45 p.m. to get a good seat. Wor.Bro. Brown was at that time rigging up some power for the lights, PA systems etc., we had no idea that his equipment needed 60 amps/220v.
Wor.Bro. Keith Moffitt & Bro. Wayne Fox were busy putting the refreshments on Ice, preparing the ingredients for Tacos plus there were Hot Dogs in steamed buns. By 8:00 p.m. the hall was full, and the show started. Wor.Bro. Peter Wood & Wor.Bro. Larry Brown chipped in helping out on the Bar.
Its was a busy night for the workers, but everything went well with not a hitch. By looking at the faces of the crowd, it was not hard to tell that everybody was enjoying the show. By 11:00 the crowd was gone, left behind only the mess to cleaned up.
I will leave you with one of the jokes Jimmy told:
Jimmy was golfing in P.E.I., on the sixteenth hole he hit his ball into a big field of buttercups. So he walked over with his 9 iron and just as he went to hit the ball he heard a voice behind him say, Please don't hurt my buttercups. He turned around and there was a beautiful woman standing there in a long white dress. Jimmy said, Who are you? She said, I'm mother nature. If you don't hurt my buttercups, I'll give you all the butter you can eat for the rest of your life. Jimmy said, That's great! But where were you three holes back when I was in the pussywillows?
